Enjoy getting to know Annie Lawrence, the heroine from The Truest Heart!
Physical Description- Annie is slight, with strawberry blonde hair and hazel eyes. She doesn’t consider herself as conventionally pretty and wears simple, plain clothes, due to having been in mourning for her late husband.
Strengths and weaknesses - Annie is incredibly caring and compassionate—both to the women she serves as midwife, and to her family and friends. She has a tendency to be overprotective of those she loves and struggles with forgiving herself for past mistakes.
Quirks - Wears a split skirt while riding horseback, something few proper women would attempt.
Inspiration for the character - The nurses on the British television show Call the Midwife! I have absolute admiration for their dedication to midwifery, and wanted to portray that same dedication in my heroine’s personality. I also wanted to write about someone who struggles with believing she deserves forgiveness and blessing from God. I’ve struggled with this myself and was able to delve into this truth in Annie’s life. I hope those who read the story are encouraged by the truths Annie comes to learn.
